  • Leo Triplet

    This famous group of three galaxies is located in the constellation Leo, which is high in the south in spring. The Leo Triplet includes M65, M66, and NGC 3628 (the Hamburg Galaxy). All three galaxies are gravitationally bound to each other and are approximately 35 million light years away from us.

    Im Sternbild Löwe, welches im Frühling hoch im Süden steht, befindet sich diese berühmte 3-er Gruppe von Galaxien. Zum Leo Triplet gehören M65, M66 und NGC 3628 (Hamburger Galaxy). Alle 3 Galaxien sind gravitativ aneinander gebunden und sind von uns ca. 35 Mio. Lichtjahre entfernt.
