NGC 2174 – Monkey Head Nebula

The Monkey Head Nebula NGC 2174 is located in the constellation Orion. The bright emission nebula has a size of 75 light years and is about 6000 light years from Earth. In the sky, the nebula has a size that corresponds to that of the full moon.

Der Affenkopf-Nebel NGC 2174 befindet sich im Sternbild Orion. Der helle Emissions-Nebel besitzt eine Ausdehnung von 75 Lichtjahren und ist ca. 6000 Lichtjahre von der Erde entfernt. Am Himmel besitzt der Nebel eine Größe, die der des Vollmondes entspricht.

The color information was recorded with the TS-OPTICS 76EDPH at 342mm focal length and F4.5 Luminance with Rasa 11“ V2 at 620mm focal length and F2.2
